When the second of us gets home, we yell hi after coming in. If we're both on the first floor, the one who just got home will go kiss the other. If we're on different floors, we wait until we happen to be on the same floor.

The greeting "at the door" thing is pretty nuts.

Thank you. We both grew up in turbulent homes and wanted better for ourselves and our children. It is amazing how a small act of kindness: greeting each other fosters love and respect.

NP, not a newlywed, not a troll. I give my DH a kiss when he comes home. Married 20+ years. Not usually a hug though. I greet him at the door if I happen to be at the door when he walks in, otherwise I greet him at the dishwasher, or the sink, or the living room, or the porch swing, or wherever it is I happen to be.

I say hello and often give a hug or kiss when we organically are close enough to do so, but I do not rush to the door and greet him literally at the door. That would be a bit much.

Not at the door, but he gets physical affection as soon as we spot each other. I work FTOH in the same demanding job that he does so he doesn’t expect a dog and pony show.
