Have even looked into how to start a charitable foundation. There are a fair amount of expenses, so most think it's not worth it for less than a million dollars. You can put only up to 30% of your income into a private foundation, so you would need to win at least $3.3 million.
You can put up to 50% of your income into a donor advised trust, but that doesn't seem as fun.
