Absolutely no one is telling the 18mo kid to forward face

The “just forward face” is clearly aimed at the OP of this thread with a 2.5 year old who has outgrown rear facing car seats.

The lack of a quote of the 18mo case and the fact that this thread is about the OP makes it pretty clear that comments without a quote are directed at the main subject

If the time has come to be forward facing there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s perfectly fine to be forward facing

They’ve outgrown this stage of their lives, that’s ok

Can you just rent one? We never traveled with a car seat, and we were always able to rent one. I know some people like to have them on the plane but if that’s not you maybe you can just rent one?

Anyone with any new ideas? I have an incredibly tall 18mo old that has nearly outgrown the scenera. I obviously can’t FF yet. She’s 36”, weight isn’t an issue (she’s circa 25lbs). That could work for us long term. Have you flown with it? (Meaning, do you know if it fits in an airplane seat).


It’s about three times heavier than the Scenera and 15 lbs heavier than the Evenflo Sureride.

We use the Graco Extend2fit as a regular car seat and also for travel... no idea how it compares logistically to something like the Cosco Scenera but it's been manageable to carry and install, and it lasts rear-facing for eons...

The SureRide is a great travel seat if you can handle the fact that it will be FF. It's what we replaced our Cosco Scenera Next with.
