Wonderful teachers and great idealistic human beings as well, both for the main classroom and for the specials. I don't think that the things you mention in the post have affected the kids' classroom experience. I don't know about DCI. Is there data to support that MV kids have not done as well? I'd like to see that or learn more about where you got that impression.
My kids have MV friends who commute from Brookland.
Despite some comments to the contrary, I believe it is unlikely that you will have a chance at MV P Street again. MV8 is probably more likely, and more convenient to Brookland.
There is apparently a committee of parents who crunched the data. Ask the Padres.
What data did they have access to and then crunched? I’m skeptical. I also am not sure what ‘done well’ means - have friends? good PARCC scores? Got all 4s or higher on report cards?
They looked at data from all DCI feeders and MV kids were the lowest academic performance. I don't know much more than that.

The immediate downside would be not being able to get aftercare- would that negate the simplicity of being close?
