I don't want to look at them. That's what you're looking for, right? Besides being unsightly, panhandling on the median is dangerous for the person doing it as well as for drivers.
They hold up traffic, too.

1. You don't want to look at them.
2. You might run them over with your car.
3. Sometimes they add a few seconds to the length of your trip.
