I find the culture of FB birthday wishes very tedious. Am I supposed to like each one? Is it okay to just do a single thank you. Do I need to wait a certain number of days before I can stop thanking individual belated wishes?

I’m not talking about her not responding to fb posts. She didn’t respond to personal texts/emails.
OK...yes, and? How may we help you?
Some of these responses are bizarre. Like it’s not rude to just completely blow off your friends nice messages. You’re not an Aries, you’re just rude. How hard is it to send a text that says “thanks!”?
YES, AND? OK, we've established that it was kind of rude. Yes, and? What would you like to do about it? Send her a link to this thread? Stone her? Send her a glitter bomb? Sign her up for the Michael Bolton fan club? Tar and feather her?
YES, AND?

Anonymous wrote:Okay 1. She might have been just joking and making a smart-ass comment.
And 2. no one is obligated to respond to a text or an email wishing you a happy birthday. What the hell. If there's one day of the year where you get a break, maybe it should be a birthday.
I think it's pretty crappy of people to do something and expect something in return. Especially as something as tiny and insignificant as sending a text.
it sounds like you sent her a card or gift. You did the very bare minimum amount you could do. So she returned in kind.
