Bday kid gets to choose dinner menu. It can get silly- mac & cheese on a baguette, but whatever.
Cake is homemade (I'll do store bought of their choice for their party).
During school year, they bring on treat into class.

I have red velvet, dh has watergate cake etc. We cut it with the silver knife that cut my grandparents, parents and our wedding cakes and has the dates engraved on it. The knife gets tied with a special birthday ribbon.
Hold up!
Are you saying you get a birthday CAKE !?!?! Every year?
No.way.
Everyone has their own special flavor, I make it from scratch. Asshole.

A bit of a Pain but both really like it and ask for it each year.
I love this. Although I’m lazy so maybe I’ll modify to wrap the door kinda like I used to do wrapped lockers for friends in middle school.![]()
We have a plate that plays happy bday music. Cake picked by bday boy/girl. Silly calls to or from family.
