Its not that gender specific gifts are bad, but the OP isn't buying an individual person a gift. She wants something she can just have on hand and pull out of her stash when she needs a gift. It seems easier if she doesn't have to worry about keeping separate boy and girl gifts.

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to agree with the poster who warned about giving gifts to non birthday siblings. I wouldn't like this as a parent. It's healthy for siblings to learn that one day a year is celebrating that one child and his special day - and that it's not about them.

Pack of glowsticks, new markers, sketch book, cute goofy socks, Uno or card games, bath bomb, bubble bath, temporary tattoos. Candy is always nice, too.
