+2 Privacy is really important to us, so I don't want my kiddos' photos on Google or some other data sharing site. We love iCloud photo album.

Uhm, data sharing site like icloud's servers?

+1 Haha, you realize icloud is basically the same as google, right?

The major difference between iCloud and Google is that Google uses your data (from your photos) to sell ads. Apple (iCloud) doesn't do that. Photo sharing necessarily shares data with other people (family members, etc.). What you don't want is to share your data with a company that is storing that information in perpetuity. (Some folks aren't concerned about data privacy, which is fine, but as the thread is about sharing family photos, some people don't want their children's photos shared on Google.) I'm not sure what PP is referring to in terms of the similarity between the two apps.

I mean, if you really want to be secure, use Piwigo on server space you pay money for, or get a Helm. That's a start, at least. Of course, if you're using your own server you have to be able to adequately secure that.

we've used tiny beans for 6 years. great user interface and usability.
it's unprofitable and VC backed - hope we don't lose 100s of photos someday!!
prob someone will buy them if they can't monetize enough .
