Carpet is gross.

I had carpet in my house which was carpeted when I bought it and after replacing it three times (it gets nasty people) I decided to spend money and get the hardwoods underneath repaired/replaced/refinished. It's much better with hardwoods.

Only nasty filthy people have wall to wall carpet.

Agree - carpet is GROSS anywhere. Team hardwoods here!

I'm the "young" people you speak of and i got tired of my son busting his mouth and head on the beautiful hardwood ugh. guess what, i bought the house with the carpet. so your theory fails.

It is totally different. Area rugs can be rolled up and sent away to be washed. You can sweep and mop underneath them.

I've taken up old carpeting in two different homes and what I found underneath was NASTY. Dust and dirt settle through the carpet, the carpet pad degrades and its just a pile of nasty dirt underneath. Vacuums only get the dirt from the very top surface layer. If you ever watch carpet being removed, you'll never want it in your house again.

Different people like different things. I prefer carpet in the bedroom areas, and I don’t really mind it in living areas. I like tile in kitchens and baths.

You should really see somebody about all that hair loss. That’s not normal.

Carpet just isn't compatible with my culture, which includes shoes and dogs. I need a house where everything can be washed at least annually.
