My family has membership at Sports and Health McLean Regency and we pay $230/month for a family of 10. Wife, husband, and 8 kids. Very nice facility and we can play tennis indoors tennis there for $7/hr in the winter. We can also use any sports and health worldwide without any additional cost

They have LA fitness here as well and it's a trash heap compared to LTF.

I'm in DC suburbs and I'm with the Miami poster. $33 per month for LA fitness. I use the pool 5x per week, which also means i hardly use my own shower and save money on water.

We pay 240 for a family of 4 at the new Lifetime. It is so much money but we really love it and use it almost daily. The Yoga classes are similar to those at a yoga studio which has not been my experience at other gyms. My kids also love it which is most important to me. They have tons of different classes for the kids. Today they took hip hop dance. They also have classes for the kids like Spanish, Sports Skills, Science, Ballet and Tumbling.

For a premiere membership (meaning we can use any lifetime facility in the country), I'm paying $250/month, which includes me, my husband, and my two kids (one of whom is 14 so gets the adult rate). When we did the regular onyx membership (meaning we only had access to one club) it was $200. We upgraded to get access to the pools at the gaithersburg club. IMO it is so worth it, assuming you go. Between my husband and I, we go about 8-9 times a week, and now my kids are using it too and we're all using the outdoor pool. If you can afford it, it's definitely worth it. The classes, equipment, and overall facilities are excellent.

exactly, it’s like people have lost the ability to think. Instead of waiting for responses here, wouldn’t it be easier to call lifetime. It’s mind boggling

It's always good to ask around and compare what other people are paying. The rates they quote when you talk to them might be higher than what other people are paying.

Usually they aren’t forthcoming on the phone either and want you to come in for a hard sell which is time consuming if it’s not in your budget.

I think the one in Fairfax is a bit cheaper -- $80 for a single, $139 for a couple and $30 per kid.

My understanding of Lifetime is that they don't negotiate like other gyms do. There are different prices that people pay but it is often related to when they joined and which level of membership they had when joining (not sure they have the different tiers anymore, but they used to have like Onyx, Platinum, etc).

We pay $240/month for a family of 4. The breakdown is $90/adult and $30/child. You can't use the child care if your children aren't also members. It's definitely the most expensive gym in our area but you get what you pay for with the quality of the facilities and the group fitness and yoga classes included with your membership. Both DH and I go at least 5 days per week so we get our money's worth.
