Given that Karasik serves medically vulnerable children I suspect this is in response to parent concerns (or perceived concerns?). If that's the case (we're not enrolled there), I do not blame them, and I say this as someone who doesn't think masks do much in this setting/population and is concerned about developmental impacts.

Do they do outdoor lunch or seperate the vulnerable kids at least? We are looking for a Covid cautious daycare and may need to check them out.

Lunch has been served indoors in all 3 of the classrooms my kid has moved through.You can ask them if they have specific policies for high-risk kids.

Yes, that was the reason given for continuing to mask. Several families have left over the policy, but the benefits of the place outweigh this issue for us.

Are they distancing for lunch and naps? We are currently in a nanny share but on a waitlist for several centers for next year, including Karasik. Talked to a director at another area center recently who was so proud of the high voluntary mask compliance among kids/teachers, but they literally do nothing else. Kids sort of wearing masks for 2/3 of the day means nothing when they eat/nap together in relatively small classrooms and still have window AC units!! They’ve had multiple outbreaks, I wonder why. These places either need to go all in or stop the charade.

I probably need to start a new thread on this, but I’d like to know which MoCo centers are no longer requiring masks, it seems most are with no real endpoint so gotta think they still will be next year too.
