well, too bad you appear to live in the past, as you missed one of the BEST gay pride events in the city this past weekend
Nothing stays the same, but if you're going to base your experiences on your 23 yo self, then you don't want to hear this argument.
DP: Gay Pride does not equal acceptance of racial and ethnic minorities. There’s actually a lot of anti-Asian attitudes among white gay males.
yes, being gay doesn't mean not being racist. Look at John Galliano.

In the February incident, a French couple having a beer outside La Perle bar in Paris's Marais district said he repeatedly insulted them with lines including "f*n ugly Jewish bitch" and "f*n Asian bastard"
Lol. Sorry but this made me laugh... a French couple?? Jews/Asian??
Have you ever been to France? It’s as if not more multiracial than the US?
Jews and Asians can certainly be French. Jews lived in France since the Middle Ages. Many were rounded up during the Holocaust, but France also hid many of its Jews, recognizing that they were fellow French men, women, and children. In the 1800s-1950s, France held colonial territory in Asia. During and after the wars of independence, many Indochine elites fled to France and remained there, as do their children and grandchildren. I know a family of ethnic Vietnamese that are French citizens. I think you can hear masses in French at Vietnamese Catholic parishes throughout the US. Many in the older generations were educated in French schools.
Yes I know... it just sounded funny to me that’s all.
DP.. I guess you would laugh if it was an American couple of Asian/Jewish ancestry, too. Only white people can be "real" Americans, right?

Anonymous wrote:Another difference between Frederick and MCPS is that in Frederick teachers are required to spend far less time gathering data for the school system so they have more time to grade student's work. One of the biggest problems in MCPS is that teachers spend and get so little time to grade. Grading isn't an end point. Giving substantive feedback and grade measurements to students along the way not just at the end makes a huge difference in student's learning.

Anonymous wrote:Frederick is better for ES and MS.
For HS it depends. If you have kids in a HS magnet program in MCPS then that is better but for the general honors/AP or regular path Frederick is better. MCPS is too large and the high schools are getting too big. The mega mall style of schools is an overlooked problem. Once a school surpasses 2000 kids or has a large low income population the quality drops.
