Sadly, they are barely making enough to pay the incredibly talented symphony orchestra members a decent wage. These people work for the love of the music —they deserve so much more than what they are paid.
But I agree that it adds up quickly at that price, and I would go a lot more if it were cheaper. I think in other countries they subsidize this sort of thing in a way that Americans do not.

Wow. I can’t imagine paying 777$ to see the lion king but would pay 40$ to have my kids listen to a live orchestra while watching ET. Isn’t it wonderful how we allnhave our own preferences?

ET is expense. I just attended an event where lawn tickets where 25. Here is swan lake with lawn tickets for 25$ too. Harry Potter starts at 35. It’s not all the same.

Yeah it's different when it's something that's more visual, you know like dancing. You would actually want to be able to see the stage.

Lots of people pay $40 for their 5-year-olds. Have you been to WT lately?

We went when they did Star Wars a few years ago and were sat next to a family with three little boys who talked, whined, and were just noisy in general for the whole performance. Ruined it.

It prices out people who shouldn't be attending. Sorry if that's harsh!

Wow. Aren't you a peach.

I saw the nso last night for $29, so ET is expensive. They are probably charging more for a popular movie

Yes we have stopped going. Not worth it for us, but plenty of people here have tons of money.
