I also have an 05 and any list that does not include Pipeline, which is one of the top teams in the nation, is not a serious list. I have watched Pipeline destroy local ECNL teams. I don't know if other age groups have non-ECNL/DA teams that dominate. If they do, those teams should be included.


Pipeline has some quality players, but saying the are a top team in the nation is a little overboard.

We haven't been including the Baltimore area teams (Spirit Baltimore Armour, SAC, Pipeline). I suppose the Rush could be added to the list...i'd put them around the MU DA level.

McLean and vda tied once and vda won once. The teams are pretty evenly matched. MU is not close to either.


Is it worth vda 05 even going to Champion’s League? They drew 2 of the top 20 teams in “youth soccer rankings USA” and can’t even get by Washington spirit. Save your money and stay home.


VDA is going to take a beating against those 2 top teams. Welcome to the big leagues!

I wouldn't say they have destroyed ECNL teams. They beat McLean 2-1 (McLean is in 2nd place in the MA Conference in ECNL) yet they tied Loudoun's ECNL 1-1 (Loudoun is currently in last place in their division with a 1-15-4 record). Just as local examples. But only getting a tie against Loudoun is the furthest thing from "DESTROYING" ECNL teams as you can get.

Because, presumably their best players are on Spirit MD considering the club affiliations.

It also goes to show that, in the end perception is reality and unless you are DA or ECNL nobody cares about the unicorn teams playing against B and C team competition.

Tournament organizers use gotsoccer. Who cares? Agree that McLean and Bethesda (mrm coach and players coming in and are already playing scrimmages together) should be ahead of metro.

2) Arlington: Heard a parent at the pediatrician asking for growth hormones for their kid...gotta respect that determination.
3) McLean: Lots of bog houses and disposable income. That bodes well.
