?

Why is it racist? I love my muscular butt.

Also wondering why it is possibly racist, and insensitive at best?

My mother, bless her heart, had the flattest lily-white pancake butt you ever saw. It looked sad and ashamed of itself, like it was trying to hide between her legs.

She was absolutely delighted by my round butt (also lily-white). I find it annoying always to need to take in the waist of my jeans, but I deal with it. I posted a couple of times about benefits earlier in the thread.

That research was a review (not a study), and it began by stating that the “proportion of abdominal to gluteofemoral body fat, as measured, for example, by the waist-to-hip ratio, correlates with obesity-associated diseases and mortality and is a stronger cardiovascular risk marker than BMI.” In other words, the issue is not how much fat is deposited, but where. That focus was reflected in the study’s conclusion, which reiterated that gluteofemoral adipose tissue potentially offers cardiovascular benefits and merits further research.

So my body type—petite, great abs, but I carry weight in my butt/thighs—may have some health advantages. This may make up for the difficulty I have buying pants that fit—I’ll take it!

Wish I could say I had great abs, but my kids destroyed those. However, petite with a butt describes the figure I have had since I was a teen. My butt is what made my now husband notice me.

I too am happier now that my bite is corrected, but I'll be even happier when my braces are off.

I have a big booty & I hate it. I can’t bum around in leggings like my flat butt friends. I’ve had folks honk & say inappropriate things when I’m just trying to live my life. I don’t find it affirming. It makes me feel exposed & uncomfortable
