3) Keeping all of Great Falls as one town, one community, and one school pyramid.
Western Great Falls belongs at Herndon. While I realize that you politically can't support that, it is the truth. Probably can't be done now because of the crowding at Herndon, but it should eventually come to pass. Unless of course the School Board purposely never builds the western high school. Where do you stand on the western high school?
Do you support expanding West Potomac while there is plenty of room next door at Mt. Vernon?
If the School Board performs its job as a county wide body and does what is right, selfish individual Board members will not get their way.
Representative republics are just that.
But is it working? If it was working properly, the rest of the School Board would have told Karen Corbett-Sanders to pound sand when it came to expanding West Potomac while Mt. Vernon has available space.
My guess is that many backdoor deals are being made to avoid changing boundaries.
In a representative republic, it is the job of the elected official to represent the people in his/her district.

GF resident here
The school board would have done this already. Strauss claims she was shocked by the jump in enrollment in one year in McLean. I find this hard to believe.

Finally someone who cares about Langley and McLean. It's been far too long that illegals get the new schools and services while the high paying areas like McLean and Langley get shafted. No trailers and no over crowding in any McLean or Langley zone should be the county priority.

His position is one Langley and not really one Great Falls. This is pretty much good for me. He also seems to support more funding for HHS, which is good. HHS needs and IB or magnet program like Southlakes.

Some good points here. I was the earlier poster who said I don't get a "say." I guess I should have said I don't get a "vote" on the Dranesville candidate.
A lot of problems with these additions is that they are, from what I understand, bond money. So, it is budgeted differently. Somehow, anytime there is a bond vote on the ballot, voters think it is fine. It is not. It adds to our debt--but it doesn't come out of SB budget. At least, that is my understanding.
I agree about IB and magnet schools. I would also add AAP centers and immersion programs.
The problem is that our SB does not address the "whole." Because it is political (even though it is not supposed to be), each district member usually has final say over what happens in their district. It is an unspoken "courtesy" that they afford each other.

Mobasheri is running to do Langley’s bidding first and foremost. Read through the conflicting statements paying lip service to the parents in the Herndon and McLean pyramids and the message is clear: Langley parents should have veto rights on whether anyone is redistricted in or out of Langley. No one else matters.
