Springboard frontline staff also disliked Springboard management.

Wow so they said they did background checks but apparently did not?

Canceled at our charter as well. The email we got indicated reports that Springboard has all of their staff members background checks but unable to produce records of them as required. This is so dishearteningthat it took an incident that involved the police for DCPS and the charter schools to take a look at this company that overcharges for the care their provide. I should note that not all Springboard staff have been bad--we have had some that we have loved but are thankful for our charter school teachers who have also been in the classroom or supporting the aftercare programming.

I really liked the Springboard staff at my kids school the last couple of years. We even had one of the staff babysit for us a couple of times. Will they get paid this week?

I'm trying to find more about this too. I'm hearing they may lose 50+ sites from this so it must be pretty serious. I wish we had more information.

What was the incident?

I have found Springboard as an organization to be a disaster.

You could also try, if at all possible, to pick your kids up a little earlier than usual this week.

Well, it says "staff" which likely includes aides. And DCPS staff means people hired from downtown. So I doubt this burden is falling entirely on teachers. It isn't ideal but what can you do at this point?

Not sure what school you are at, but certainly hasn’t stopped at ours. On top of that teachers have report cards, have to pack up rooms, host celebrations for families and children, have data analysis meetings. It is a busy week for them. All I am saying is we can say thank you to them for working 3 extra hours a day because of this Springboard mess.
