In the past I have done a more elaborate menu but since this year we are keeping it simple and serving hot dogs and mac and cheese (along with salad, fruit and baby carrots)
My mother has been on a perpetual diet since my sister was born 32 years ago. She does not have any health restrictions she just doesn't like to eat certain foods. she told me that she absolutely could not eat hot dogs and that she had to have something else for dinner. She has been going on on about making something in a crock pot because the menu is not acceptable. I'm just about to cave because I'm tired of hearing her kvetch about it
A gracious host makes sure there is food for everyone. You know your mom's dietary preferences and you seem to be deliberately pushing her buttons. Are they staying with you or at a hotel?
What is in the salad?

Oh and I’m not on a diet- I just don’t eat hot dogs or mac and cheese.
Damn. Between you and the poster who thinks 4 year olds cannot handle hot dogs, I’m not sure who is more of a lunatic.![]()
