Like most MCPS high schools, Wootton's graduation is at DAR Constitution Hall. There's no way any of the school facilities could hold the three thousand attendees. Plus, DAR is really an elegant setting for such a milestone event.

You do realize that every MCPS had their graduation on the football field for decades, right? Some still do. I know Damascus still does.
Graduated from a MCPS high school in the mid 80's and we graduated at DAR. I agree it's a terrible choice, but they have been doing it for 30+ years. It's incredibly difficult to get down there with traffic, find parking, deal with getting older family members in and out, and get enough tickets for family. I wish they would move all of the graduations to someplace in Montgomery County or the XFinity Center at UMD like several schools have been doing in the past few years. The problem with a football field is contingency for bad weather or sweltering heat.
I graduated RM in the last 80's and we had it on the football field. What school was using DAR 30 years ago? It is absolutely a terrible option.
