Subject: CAVA - how do you like the place?
But no, I have never been charged for pita. DH even asks for 2 for himself and we have never been charged.

Really? I was charged for it last week at the Potomac Yards store. I was completely surprised. In fact they made it a big deal. The first person went stomping off to get it, dramatically wrapped it in foil and then walked it down the line telling each of the other 3 line people and finally the cashier that I had ordered pita. She put her hand on their shoulder, held the wrapped pita about 3 inches in front of their faces and said "this is pita." Even the other people in line were looking at the woman like 'what is this' and raised eyebrows with me. I think they charged me like $1.75 for it. I love Cava but this time it was totally weird.
That’s odd. I eat at that location all the time. Did you order it at the beginning with your bowl? It sounds like you ordered it at the register and she was probably annoyed and trying to make a point.

I love Cava. I get falafel with practically all the toppings. It's at least 2 meals for $10.

I think it's delicious- I love the crazy feta. I feel like you get a ton of food for the price and you really can't buy anything for under $8.00 these days. It's healthy and convenient. No complaints here.

Cava’s hummus is about the best you can easily find around here. Everything else is OK, IMO, but it’s not my lunch of choice. I come from an area with excellent Middle Eastern food and sadly nothing in the DC area compares.
My lunch of choice is either Sweetgreen or Greek Deli. (I work near Farragut N.) At Sweetgreen you can build your own salad for $6.75 (no fancy stuff like cheese or avocado or meat, but yes to bread! And three dressings - two for salad and one for bread dipping!). Greek Deli makes me happy, so I’m a regular.

I like it a lot but the toppings are often too “wet” so it all gets too mushy if you don’t have grains in there. I find it hard to enjoy the salad bowl for that reason. Also, certain dressings/toppings taste just a bit too acidic/sour sometimes.

Not a vegetarian but I eat falafel anytime I'm out for fast casual mediterranean because its something I wouldn't make for myself at home. Cava has the worst falafel I've had anywhere. I'm not a foodie and not picky in general but it was like a weird ball of mush.

Their falafel is great. Cava is probably my favorite place to get takeout, but it is too expensive. And I always feel rushed when I’m trying to order my toppings. That’s annoying when you’re spending so much money on your meal.
