I don't have as much sympathy for national news and talk show types because they have a lot more budget.

But if you're a smaller market weatherperson or something like that, you aren't making very much money, you don't have many places to shop, and you usually have really strict guidelines on how to dress from the tv channel (dresses, no prints, only colors, etc.) That's why so many newswomen ended up in that same cheapo Amazon dress.

I think this is generational. I don't want to see women wearing business suits on tv. Or really that much at work. A great dress, sleeveless or no, is just right.

Are you a bunch of old biddies? Does it also upset you if women forgo hosiery?

Yes, I agree that it looks unprofessional. I didn’t like it when Michelle Obama wore them all the time, and I don’t like it when TV anchors do it, too.

P.S. No one hates Trump and company more than me, but that won’t keep me from criticizing a Democratic woman’s fashion choice!

PP again with the ugly leg s. I guess I’m replying because people don’t crtiticize women for showing leg. Maybe very very short skirts but otherwise it’s considered ladylike to show legs and be wear heels. That look is terrible for me and I feel it’s unfair I can’t be feminine too so I wear sleeveless.

My legs are thick and unattractive. Cankles and pudgy knees. And I’m not fat. My tummy is flat as a board I have great toned arms and a nice neckline. I wear sleeveless all the time. WIth slacks. I’m not trying to be sexy. Just working with what I have.

Judy Woodruff does not have sexy arms. She should cover up. But I guess it’s for comfort.

I’m a lawyer and I hate the feel of jackets. They just feel so restrictive to me. I love a sleeveless dress and if I had a job where I was permitted to wear one without anything over it, you bet your ass I would. (The first thing I do when I’m going to be doing desk work is take off the jacket!)

I agree. Especially when the skirts are so short that the women have to sit in bizarrely twisted positions so nothing shows also while wearing FMN shoes. I can't take them credibly. Also INHE the studios are cold because the lights are bright. I wish all the women would dress more professionally and also stop with the fake eyelashes.

My sister is a presenter on a sports news channel and there are pretty strict guidelines on what they can wear. Solid colors, no black (doesn't look good on camera), and clean simple lines. They can wear sleeves but sleeveless shifts basically fit the bill best.
