My DDs friend friended me on FB. I figure my DD can peek at her FB page since she does not have one. I wouldn’t look at or post on page.

I just posted, but I have now been 2 talks on social media and kids and both speakers recommended it. You'd be surprised how stupid even "good kids" are on social media and they are doing things that attract pedophiles and/or could ruin their futures. Things have changed. We all did stupid things, but growing up we didn't have to worry about our digital footprint.

Usually they follow adults for a follow back and to gain other followers, though it is possible they just think you are cool. Many of them want to become influencers and it's all zbout number of followers, even if they are adults.

It's what the experts recommend. Keep on eye on your kid's social media and their friends. Kids are doing things on social media that cost them getting into college and getting jobs. It is naive to trust your kid won't do something stupid. The recommendation is also don't let your kid be friends with a kid on social media who doesn't accept your request as well.
