Okay, I'll bite. I'm a Spirit parent. I never said we were the best though. We aren't. I'm waiting to see what's going to happen with these new developments. I AM happy that I'm not at FCV and facing the drive to Springfield.... I'd rather be on a team that loses but develops my kid and lets her also have enough time to get her schoolwork done....
To be fair, there was one nutty poster here who defended Spirit like she was on the payroll all fall. She touted everything as Spirit's indenting love of development over wins, rather than admit there were real problems - like rosters and inappropriate playing up. I think that poster rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
Most posters don't act like that, but she lived on this forum and had a PR buddy that would second whatever she said (or she was very smart in how she sock puppeted).
Most Spirt parents admitted it is imperfect, but that they stayed because their kids have developed as players and their kids like the experience, something I'm sure other players wish they could say about their youth club experience.

Not sure if that was Bobby or his wife posting, or maybe someone from TSJ management. Anyhow, I guess we shall see. The teams he inherited this year (remember he didn't come to FCV until this year) did not get better from a results perspective. They stayed flat. Maybe you're right. We shall see ...

Most clubs are non-profits governed by board members who are elected. They’re not typically for-profit or part of a failing pro sports franchise. We’ve been mocking spirit since it began and told you this would happen but you would point at the sick puppet and claim everyone else was wrong.
Does STJ offer kickboxing classes? FCV 05 parents can train up for their next fight while their daughters train on that pretty indoor turf field.

Agree on the parents. However, kids get screwed which pisses me right off. I was not sold on FCV to begin with and sort of knew something like this was going to happen. At the end of the day, it is what it is.

This is similar to us- but different place. Yet--people that don't get that love to weigh in and rip apart clubs and players. And, yes, I do not think I have a Messi or Mia Hamm---but every *sshole has that as their typical response to reasoning parents choose clubs that are not their own.

FCV will be "cautious about travel distances" followed by "geography make-up of teams". So are there going to be Springfield teams and Ashburn teams?
You blew past the quote "St James is providing us with additional opportunities if we want to use them."
The "we" in that sentence does not mean Bobby and us parents, after discussion and mutual agreement about whether to use the additional opportunities at the Springfield complex. Instead, "we" means the Club, and the Club now has a financial incentive in getting bodies inside the Springfield complex. I can guarantee the "we" in that sentence will decide pretty quickly to take advantage of those new opportunities in Springfield. Some of you may be fine with the extra driving and the uncertainty going forward with the club. But our girl is out.
