I feel you aren’t well-read and uncultured. This concept of push presents aren’t a new phenomenon. In fact, it dates back centuries just under a different name based on various cultures. Here’s a hint: There are Americans with other cultural backgrounds where gifting the new mom is an act of celebration for the new life that has entered into the family.

I suggest you read the history of push presents or baby baubles. It’s not a “new money” concept.

+1. This type of woman also likes pumpkin spice lattes and plaques that say “live...laugh...love” for hanging in the kitchen.

How old are you and why are you hanging out on this board?

DP, why does her age matter? Some people get married younger and some older. Either way whatever works best for you the do it. I’m not a fan of gender reveals and having a baby shower but I not offended if that’s what someone else chooses to do.

I wish baby mooning was a big thing fifteen years ago when I was pregnant. I did get a beautiful piece of jewelry from my DH & an equally beautiful baby too. I’d definitely go for the night nurse it will be so nice for you.

It's all kind of nauseating.

Ok the gender reveals are annoying, but the baby moon and push presents are actually culturally socioeconomically based. The wealthy have almost always done this in some form, it’s only now that the rest of us are catching up.

Ha. Not jealous. We have plenty of money - about half of which I earn on my own, so I can buy myself nice things instead of being lame and saying "honey, you owe me something for birthing our child" which PLEASE, is so annoying.

*If a night nurse is an option, dude, GO FOR IT. That's worth it. Stupid gold bracelet, not so much.
