Anyone who has played in McLean knows this is a lie. Ask the many parents who have stayed and they still avoid Coach Jaon like the plague. He is in charge of all the U9 to U12 girls and Keith actually promoted him when DD left!

He's a perfectionist and demands it. IMO would be a better fit for older kids because he kills the fun of soccer which is too bad when you are dealing with 8 and 9 year olds.
Thank you for some insight on the coach. That is very good to know. My DD has always had really laid back coaches and has thrived. I'm not sure how she would do with someone yelling - could go either way. I think she could take the yelling and still perform but if she stops having fun it would likely be the end of soccer after that year and push for something else at her age. She is not at the point of live and breath soccer. and would prefer joy over top team, especially when she has enjoyed her current ADP team and coaches despite less challenge.
Do you have a sense for roster sizes?

Where I live, Arlington practices in late afternoons/evenings would be real hassle due to traffic. Great Falls would be worse. The most reasonable distances for us are with: McLean, Premier AC, Vienna. All are good options depending on what you want. Different personalities, all have some good teams.
If you live north of 123, Great Falls is an easy commute. If you live south of 123, Arlington or Premier AC are better options.
If you are new to McLean, the soccer club there is excellent and getting your kids involved in it will also open up lots of new potential social relationships for you and your kids. Good luck!
