If this rumor is true then it means people were misled to say it nicely. So I don’t see people deciding to stick around. This is probably the worst option if retaining the talent they did have was their goal. Honestly don’t see them filling full teams next year, if this is true.

Good reminder from one of the other Spirit troll generated threads what this set of trolls is trying to do. It’s telegraphed in the last line. They think this is information warfare. As much as they think Spirit parents are trying to recruit, it is these sick individuals who are spreading fake news to try to deter people from looking or even staying with the club. This forum has become a lame type of infowars and a joke to boot.

Anything that causes uncertainty or doubt goes against their mission. You are the enemy if YOU bring up or point out issues that is not favorable to their cause. I think if it is a DA team then they will be fine and maybe better. There was a lot of talk that the Spirit just ran for profit and so that was why you saw girls playing who should not have been playing DA. I don't though that this rumour is true. The Spirit would have said something so as not to look bad in the public eyes.

^^^Agreed-the whole Spirit DA was built around the pro team and having access and affiliation with the Washington Spirit brand. Who gives a fig about Great Falls-Reston? Not what players and parents signed up for!

Fortunately, the deafening silence by the club leadership and some useful info from this forum have been very telling to a lot of players and families who have been investigating other options for months. It’s pretty terrible that the club is waiting until the 11th hour to confirm all of the rumors and speculation. I just hope all of the Spirit girls with talent land elsewhere next year and can thrive.
