There is a number of ECNL and DA teams that are playing in EDP. EDP is a solid league that is growing. In contrast, CCL model is failing and strongest CCL clubs took their top teams elsewhere (DA, ECNL and even EDP). Keep telling yourself that CCL is better.

Both those leagues are weak and those teams can’t compete in decent tournaments against good competition.

It just depends on which league your club is affiliated with.
If someone is talking here about how great EDP, you can guess which league they are aligned to.
I have DD in ECNL and EDP and had a DS had in EDP. EDP is definetly below the DA and ECNL but the top teams in the EDP are competitive with the top ECNL/DA teams teams and will absolutely wipe the field with the bottom tier of ECNL/DA. Check any major tournament to confirm. As a matter fact, the bottom tier of ECNL is usually not even in the same bracket as the top EDP clubs.

If YouthSoccerRankings is your thing, ten of the top 20 DMV girls teams at 2008/U11 play in EDP. The rest are split between VPL and CCL, where the top VPL team might be pulling up the rankings of other teams in the league and the CCL teams are only ranked by their public results from tournaments. It'll be interesting to see what the flight to/from DA/ECNL will do in a year or three, as we'll theoretically have some "before" data to go along with the "after" data.
