On college threads? Like college kids are getting drunk and falling out and dying? I don't think she'll have that issue with her 6YO.

Buy a cheaper bunk bed.

Put the boys together. Buy a bed with room underneath for a trundle bed. A trundle bed would work well for the younger boy without the safety issues of a bunk bed..

Haha to the girls with many brothers! Interesting perspective. What would have been so unsavory about sharing with a boy?

Hah. Girl speaks the truth. As a girl with only 2 brothers, this is also my solution.

It’s this one we like. Prefer a stair feature rather than ladder.

These are ugly, take up tons of space, and R&F furniture is crap. Just use twin beds.

Why don’t you put the two boys in the twin beds? I don’t understand why you only put bunks or g/b in twins as the two options?

One word: Craigslist

We bought Stanley solid wood twin over full bunk beds for $500.

+1 Best suggestion so far. We looked into bunk beds a few years back, and none of the ones I saw were even close to $1500.
