Mcps is over half underperformers at 1-3 grade levels below where they should be at. They are solely focused on these bottom half of students - esol, farms, under performers- and closing the achievement gap from both sides. They cut the magne t program admits to make a large section for diversity and highly able URMs.

Are there any private schools in GAITHERSBURG. The school assigned to the property in GBURG is rated a 4/10, her current school is rated 9/10 a bit more advanced than MCPS. I might need to reconsider this move.
So why would you move to a school in MCPS that's a 4? Move to a school that's highly rated then. There are a number of those in Gaithersburg too. By the way, we moved from FCPS and I find the MCPS curriculum more rigorous.
Affordability
The problem is affordability and you are looking for private school recommendations? This makes no sense.
+100. And why would OP move from a GS rated 9 to a 4 REGARDLESS of which state she's in? OP, would you move to a school in VA that is a GS rated 4? What an odd post.
Get over yourself, you don’t know all the details
No it's a genuine question. If OP is coming from a GS 9 school, then obviously a GS 4 school regardless of where it is, is going to be disappointing. You would think OP would find a higher rated school which there are plenty of in MCPS but instead she chooses to compare her GS rated 9 school to the GS rated 4 school and concludes that fcps is better than mcps.
Whitman which is one of the affluent segregated schools is a GS 4 based on its test scores, but sure that doesn't tell the whole story.

Yeah, stay in VA
