She isn’t a big drinker even when we’ll so hiding it in a drink isn’t a great option and she isn’t eating much right now unfortunately. That makes hiding meds hard.

Get it flavored. I always loved bubblegum as a kid.

You have to request it at the pharmacy now instead of it coming automatically flavored.

We had to do the same thing. It was traumatic for all of us to hold him down but by day 8 we realized we just had to do it and get it done fast rather than trying to coax him into taking it. Big rewards are key along with acknowledging that it does taste terrible and you’re very sorry about it.

Whatever the next level after the augmentin is even worse. I can’t remember what it’s called but we did three rounds of antibiotics and were exhausted.

I let my kid pick out a special bag of candy or gum from the store that she got to take each time she took her dose. It was still gross, but it worked.

We got our 4 year old to take it by offering a jelly bean after every mL. It took about 5 minutes every time we gave a dose, but she took all of it. We used the syringe and did one mL, then a treat, etc. I would think a 7 year old would rather get it over with in one quick swallow, but I'm guessing you already tried that or you wouldn't be here! Good luck, it's truly nasty stuff.

That’s nice, but there’s a 50-50 chance your kids going to puke it up within a few hours anyway - & that won’t taste like bubblegum.
My son took out most of a Chuck E Cheese on that stuff (prescribed for an swimmers ear).

Make sure your kid eats a decent amount and drinks at least 8 ounces of water with medication to avoid stomach upset
.
Of course this is much easier said than done. Augmentin is rough on empty bellies.

Yuck. You’re going to ruin the taste of yogurt for them for life.
Yogurt is the best you can do? No sugar for your kids is that it?

We are firm believers of the chocolate syrup power over here! Works like a charm for our son!

This has been true since we were kids. The only thing that works is mixing with chocolate syrup.

I brought this up to our ped recently and she said it used to be the best tasting, but now they changed the formula and she hears constantly that kids spit it out.
Unfortunately it seems to work the best for ear infections for my youngest.
