Dude, how much property are you sitting on near Kennedy? Your obsession is disturbing. No, one but you ever thinks about that school. Almost no Kennedy parents post here. Nothing about this thread relates to Kennedy. Kennedy is already part of a consortium, there is already and IB school in that consortium.
Kennedy has an IB program already (so staff don't need extra training), is underenrolled, and has the highest FARMS rate in the DCC. I think a test-in IB magnet would add a desirable program to the school.

Kennedy has had IB since 2012.

Nope. Only 2 new High Schools are in the pipeline. Crown and Woodward. No talks of either one being an IB magnet school.
This is not true. I know for a fact that there is a MCPS proposal to be discussed this week for 4 (or 3) new schools to be named IB magnet schools. They are not new schools - they are existing schools to host the program similar to Richard Montgomery High School.
An IB school isn't a "magnet" unless admissions are selective, as at RM. Otherwise it's just one more low-performing school in MCPS saddled with an IB program.
No, it's a magnet if it draws students from outside the school boundaries. That's it. No need for selective admissions.
That is so stupid. So “magnet” depends on where student lives and not proven capabilities/abilities? God, MCPS is totally screwed.

Probably be at Northwood since Kennedy will be part of the W consortium.

The new magnet IB will be at the updated Northwood or Kennedy.
