I dislike violence and gore. But I love GOT. I only jumped on the bandwagon a month or so ago, and I'm trying to binge, but it's so confusing with all the characters it's taking me awhile. I have my phone next to me and push pause often to help me figure out who is who and why they're important (or not). One favorite thing about it is suspense is satisfied rather quickly. Great character development and talented actors are also great!

I don't. Nothing about any of the descriptions I heard or read appealed to me.

I never have. I don't want to watch dark/violent shows. I am not interested in fantasy shows of that sort.

I'm sure it's a fabulous show - DH watches it - but I have no interest.

You know what I always end up doing? I don't watch the "big show" when it is on for whatever reason - no time, doesn't appeal to me, couldn't get into it. I get annoyed with everyone who is talking about it, like GoT how.

Then, years later, I watch a few episodes, discovery that I love the show, and then binge watch obsessively while trying to find someone, anyone willing to talk about it with me.

Did that with Mad Men, Justified, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad and others.

I'm with pp. I think it is disturbing that a show with such graphic depictions of rape is so popular and widely accepted now. I think it says something about our culture at the moment, and it's nothing good.

I wasn't interested at all but my son convinced me to binge watch with him and I really enjoyed the writing. I don't like watching things that are too predictable and GOT had enough twists and turns and surprises that it kept me interested. I would suggest watching 3 or 4 episodes to see if you get invested in the characters. It's difficult to tell from watching just on episode.

I tried watching it once and fell asleep.

I also got the first book from the library and stopped reading when there was incest in the first couple of chapters. No thanks. There are plenty of books and shows without sexual abuse as a storyline (and yes, I am triggered because of childhood events, so no need to call me a prude or anything).

I tried, but didn’t get far before the violence turned me off. I admit to a little FOMO but really don’t like most violence in entertainment.

I mean, I might watch it. If I didn't have to pay for that shit.

one of the most expensive shows filmed, with some of the best production value seen on television. They shoot all over the world to capture amazing landscapes, even their pilot had a $20 million budget...but yeah, cheap scenery

I understand when it isn't folks cup of tea, that makes sense- are there fundamental story telling issues? Sure there are! But the scenery?!! (makes me think you might have watched something else, or are just insufferable!)

Haven’t seen it. Don’t think I will. Heard it’s very graphic and I don’t need that in my life.
