Search your feelings. Deep down you know the answer.

FCV is in the DA. PP asked about ECNL. Neither of those clubs have 06 groups that are going to compete at a regional level either. Good try!

Those are still the only clubs that will put out teams that can compete at a National level regardless of league.

Another thing lost in this thread is the OP's observation that, "McLean does the best job with the older age groups." So, looking outside of just 12-13 yr old girls (i.e. 2006) - the ranking of the best ECNL clubs in the area for a given age group, as one might expect, depends on the coach (assuming "best" means best win/loss records over a period of time). Here are teams that are in at least the top 4 of their respective ECNL conference and their head coach. Based on this if you want your kid to play ECNL (and not DA), and they qualify, and it is logistically workable for you then try to get on a team coached by one of the following: VDA(Krout, Silver); McLean (Watson, Moumen, Leiba); BRYC (Walsh, Mishalow); or Bethesda (Greene, Cirovski) depending on your age group. Ask the question of who is coaching NEXT year (as that might change from this year) and if they hand off coaching at the older ages to one of these top coaches. Good luck as you navigate these waters.

As an aside, if you want to go DA vs. ECNL, then FCV and Arlington are the top two area DA clubs. (Note: I excluded MUFC from ECNL and Baltimore Armor-SAC-Pipeline/WSMD DA from this assuming these clubs are all too far a distance for the OP). For best "local" club outside of either DA or ECNL - try Montgomery Rush.

2006 - VDA (Krout) #1 MidAtl
2006 - Bethesda (Greene) #4 NorEast

2005 - VDA (Silver) #2 MidAtl
2005 - McLean (Watson) #3 MidAtl
2005 - Bethesda (Greene) #4 NorEast

2004 - none

2003 - BRYC (Welsh) #1 MidAtl
2003 - McLean (Moumen) #2 MidAtl

2002 - McLean (Moumen) #1 MidAtl
2002 - BRYC (Welsh) #3 MidAtl

01/00 (U19) - McLean (Leiba) #1 MidAtl
01/00 (U19) - BRYC (Mishalow) #2 MidAtl
01/00 (U19) - Bethesda (Cirovski) #1 NorEast

Yes. It is better.

Maybe because this thread is called "Best regional ECNL programs"?

Exactly.

Good point. Those are the most trolled clubs. Do you think ECNL parents are the trolls?

Meaning don’t go to the team in the area with best record?

Correct. Go to the place where you are a fit, and where you will succeed. Winning is great (I don't know many people who like to lose), but it is not the only thing. When we looked for a new club a couple of years ago we wanted to look at the girls and how my daughter fit with them, the coach, the training, and the competition on top of a win-loss record.

Well said.

What if the best fit is the team with the best record?

Then count yourself as fortunate.
