Who is saying that?

The ones who are saying that realistically, she doesn't have much chance to have kids, well, that's true enough but that's not the same as saying she's "spare parts".

Nah, it’s just the typical angry men response that pops up constantly on this board - the men who want to make women feel they are worthless after 25 and every 50 year old guy can easily date early 20s women. Even the ones with kids already who don't want any more kids?

I'm not sure how much age matters (within a range of 10 years) anyway once you get to your 40s. How you take care of yourself matters MUCH more than chronological age.

My childless divorced friend found her childless divorced partner at 44, he was 46.

They have a great life....dog, beautiful home, lots of travel and free time.

I am 44 divorced,with two young kids and dating a mid 40s man. Here is the thing though about this age--men who are mid 40s who have kids TEND to want to date women with kids. If they don't have kids or a very small percentage of custody, then it may be a different story--but they may skew younger. There is no magic formula to this but tell your friend she should be fine.

This all boils down to whether or not she wants to birth her own biological child. If she does, then it will be a very difficult reckoning - either she does it on her own or she realizes the chances for that in a relationship are extraordinarily small, possibly risking her chance to have biological kids on the attempt.

If she doesn’t want her own biological kids, she will be fine. She just needs to put herself out there.

The only thing that she has to come to terms with is not having children. But if she was married and got to 41 without them, maybe she never wanted them?

I think she’d have no problem dating guys her age. The difficult part would be finding a guy without kids to date. Being a stepmom sucks.

I’ll agree with you on all accounts except for the comment about mid-40’s men. I’m dating a great one now!

And under the age of fifty men. I'm divorced and age 49 and I can date 40 year olds.
