I have a friend that I grew up with who is like this, though she really is a bit simple & is not capable of being a rock star, and we cherish her just how she is.

Yes, her first role was when she was 13. But it was one film and a minor supporting role every 8-10 months. I'd argue that Britney Spears starring in the Mickey Mouse Club/Star Search at the age 11 with huge year-round commitments of 25 episodes a season was more stressful for a young kid.

Still Portman doesn't seem to be adversely affected.

What are you talking about? She checked into a mental health facility. That IS being an adult. She recognized that she needed help, and she did something about it.

He’s supportive but not smart enough to take her dads place as her wealth and life management counselor. Dad should have been finding britney a husband on Wall Street who will devote his career to just her.
