You have to accept it is a telenovela and not a, say, Parenthood.
I know. All of the other things that were over the top were fine and I loved it. The dramatic monologue was just way over the top and cringeworthy.

I am so glad to find a following here! I love this show’s writing and characters.
I agree I hope Jane and Raf end up together... but it’s hard to rationalize her leaving Michael. When the neurologist suggested he go back with her to find familiarity because ‘she is his wife,’ she was compelled by her duty. She is afterall dutiful!
Annnnd I agree with a PP that I’m suspicious he is faking the amnesia. If he isn’t however, I say let Jason/Michael on his merry way and let Jane and Rafael have a happy life.

I was crying in the beginning with her talking to the gravestone. Wahhhhh.
Me, too. Also, the flashback of the moment on the phone she learns of Michael’s death. It gave me chills and made me cry instantly the first time and again last night.
Gina Rodriguez is amazing.
I agree. But I do think she was bordering on "overacting" in the whole scene with "I'm going to go write" and then she walks back and forth and does her monologue. It was a bit shrill.
But her crying at the gravestone is heart wrenching.
Alba by far is the best actress in the show!

I think she has to end up with Raphael. They have a child together. Romance novels and telenovelas are all about the fatefulness of finding your One True Love, and the entire show has hinged on the insemination mixup in the very first episode.
