With Covid 19 now wouldnt it be bad to take other peoples dirty laundry into your home? Not knowing if they have it or if they've been exposed to it?

can anyone tell me the average that one can make of they only do this as a side job part time on the weekend 2 days a week?

I was so excited to use SudShare and tried it once. I sent two large laundry bags out. I underestimated how much laundry weighs--and at $1 a pound, I ended up paying $60 for the service. I couldn't justify spending that much money every week or so, so I'm back to doing the laundry myself. Oh well...

DO NOT USE THE SUDSHARE APP. THEY DO NOT PROTECT THEIR WORKERS! ITS NOT SAFE, THEY ARE SETTING YOU UP TO BE KIDNAPPED OR WORSE!!!! BREAKDOWN: I HAD A REQUEST FROM SOMEONE NAMED DANIEL TO PICK UP 4 BAGS BY 8PM. AT 5PM I LET HIM KNOW I WAS ON MY WAY. THE DRIVE WAS ABOUT 45-50 MINUTES AWAY. BEFORE I LEFT MY HOUSE, THE CUSTOMER TEXTED ME AND TOLD ME TO LET HIM KNOW WHEN I WAS 10 MINUTES AWAY SO THAT HE CAN PUT THE LAUNDRY OUT AS WELL AS TURN OFF ALARMS ON THE PROPERTY. (HE SAID THAT IF I ARRIVED WITHOUT LETTING HIM KNOW, THE ALARMS ON THE PROPERTY WOULD GO OFF AND ALERT POLICE.) PER HIS REQUEST I LET HIM KNOW I WAS 10 MINUTES AWAY AND GOT NO REPLY, I TEXTED WHEN I WAS 1 MINUTE AWAY AND STILL GOT NO REPLY AGAIN. AS SOON AS I PULLED UP IN THE DRIVEWAY HE TEXTED ME AND SAID THAT HE SAW ME COME ONTO THE PROPERTY AND TO COME TO THE BACK PORCH TO GET THE LAUNDRY. KEEP IN MIND THAT IT WAS AFTER 6PM IN GEORGIA, MEANING IT WAS VERY DARK, BARELY ANY STREET LIGHTS. HOWEVER, I STILL PARKED AND WALKED TO THE BACK OF THE HOUSE. ONCE I GOT TO THE BACK I IMMEDIATELY GOT AN EERIE FEELING. THERE WAS NO “BACK PORCH” AT ALL!! HOWEVER, THERE WERE A FEW STAIRS THAT LED TO A “BACK DOOR” BUT STILL NO LAUNDRY. THERE WAS ALSO A CRAWL SPACE NEAR THE BACK DOOR THAT LOOK LIKE SOMEONE WAS HIDING INSIDE. THERE WERE NO LIGHTS BACK THERE AND NO GRASS, JUST MUD AND TO MAKE IT WORST IT WAS JUST RAINING. ONCE I REALIZED THAT THIS SITUATION WAS NOT RIGHT I TURNED AROUND AND RAN BACK TO MY CAR. ONCE INSIDE THE CAR DANIEL MESSAGED ME IMMEDIATELY AS IF HE WAS WATCHING ME THE WHOLE TIME TO COME BACK AND GET THE LAUNDRY. I DROVE DOWN THE ROAD FROM HIS HOUSE AND PULLED OVER NEAR A WELL LIT AREA. THEN I REPLIED AND TOLD HIM THAT I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THIS PICKUP IF THE LAUNDRY IS NOT BROUGHT TO THE FRONT. HE THEN REPLIED AND SAID HE DOES NOT LIVE IN THE HOUSE AND IS NOT IN THE HOUSE AND WILL TRY TO CONTACT THE PERSON THAT DO TO GET THEM TO BRING AROUND THE LAUNDRY. 2 MINUTES LATER HE REPLIED AND SAID AND I QUOTE “NO-ONE WAS HOME” AND TO COME BACK AND GET THE LAUNDRY BECAUSE THE COMPANY “PROMISED” HIM THAT IT WOULD BE NO PROBLEMS FOR HIS LAUNDRY TO BE PICKED UP FROM THE BACK PORCH. AFTER THAT STUPID REPLY I PULLED OFF AND WENT STRAIGHT HOME!!! THE WHOLE SITUATION DID NOT SIT WELL WITH ME. I THOUGHT ABOUT IT SO MUCH AND I FELT THAT HAD I STAYED LONGER OR WENT BACK I WOULD NOT BE HERE TO WRITE THIS REVIEW. THE WEIRD THING ABOUT THIS WHOLE SITUATION IS THAT WHEN I FIRST PULLED UP ONTO THE DRIVEWAY, I TOOK MY TIME TO LOOK AT THE HOUSE AND THE LAWN. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF CAMERAS OR THE SENSORS/ ALARMS THAT HE CLAIMED HE HAD TO TURN OFF BEFORE I ARRIVED. FURTHERMORE ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE HOUSE WERE OFF AS IF NO ONE WAS THERE, AND HONESTLY THE HOUSE LOOKED A LITTLE LIKE AN ABANDONED HOUSE TO ME. ALSO, THE FRONT PORCH WAS NEAREST TO THE DRIVEWAY. SO WHY HAVE ME WALK TO THE BACK OF A SEEMINGLY ABANDONED HOUSE TO GET LAUNDRY IN THE DARK?!??!
FAST FOWARD: ON MY WAY HOME I CALLED THE SUDSHARE CONTACT NUMBER BUT GOT NO ANSWER WHICH I UNDERSTAND BECAUSE IT WAS AFTER 6PM SO I LEFT A REQUEST TO HAVE THEM CALL ME BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. AND EVEN WHEN I EXPLAINED TO THE GUY “MORT” THAT I HAD AN ISSUE AT PICKUP, I GOT NO REPLY. THIS COMPANY IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST!! THEY WANT YOU TO GO ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR THE CUSTOMER BUT CANT EVEN MAKE SURE THAT THE WORKERS ARE SAFE!!! WHAT A SHAME!!! ANOTHER THING IS THAT BEFORE THIS SITUATION I RECOMMENDED 2 PEOPLE TO JOIN THIS APP AS A WORKER AND ONLY ONE DID. TO MY SURPRISE, TWO DAYS LATER AFTER THIS CREEPY SITUATION THAT HAPPENED TO ME, SOMETHING SIMILAR HAPPENED TO HER AS WELL. SHE WENT TO DO A PICKUP AND THE ADDRESS TOOK HER TO A DEAD END. SHE WAITED FOR A FEW MINUTES BUT DID NOT FEEL SAFE SO SHE CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER AND GOT NO REPLY. SHE DROVE TO THE NEAREST GAS STATION TO ASK IF THEY KNEW ABOUT THE ADDRESS AND TO SEE IF SHE WENT TO THE WRONG PLACE. THE GAS STATION WORKER TOLD HER THAT WAS THE RIGHT ADDRESS AND THAT THE AREA IS NOT SAFE AND THE SITUATION DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT SO JUST GO BACK HOME. SHE THEN CONTACTED SUPPORT TO THEN GET A RUDE REPLY WHERE “MORT” COMPLETELY DISREGARDED THE ISSUE THAT SHE WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT. I WILL BE POSTING THIS ON EVERY SUDSHARE PAGE TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE KNOWS THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO SET PEOPLE UP. THEY ARE REQUESTING THAT YOUNG WOMEN JOIN AS WORKERS ONLY. SMH THIS IS POSSIBLY A COMPANY USED TO COVER UP KIDNAPPING, HUMAN TRAFFICKING, OR WORSE!!!!!!!! DO NOT USE SUDSHARE, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY AND DO NOT VET THEIR CUSTOMERS ENOUGH OR VERIFY THE ADDRESSES THEY ARE SENDING THEIR WORKERS TO!!!!

My stuff from SudShare came back nicely folded but overdried and very slightly grayish. I supplied the detergent, too. Like any contracting service, experience will vary depending on the contractor, but it wasn't worth it to me to try again.

I worked as a contractor for about two weeks. Based on how they handle sanitary issues and complaints I would highly recommend using a laundromats wash service instead. This guarantees a higher quality machine that also meets standards. I decided this wasn’t for me as a contractor once I was offered a rodent and mold infested laundry bag to clean. I didn’t want that in my home and would not want to pass that on to another customer so I quit once they made it clear as long as you pay, they will take you on as a customer.

No. I live in an apartment and can easily do 8 to 10 loads at a time. I don't see the need for this service outside of mzybe some college who are total do-nothings.

How did you get started with this? I too love doing laundry and ironing. Pre-Covid I had a few people that I did laundry for but it was always in their homes.

I have tried several laundry services (from laundromats or specialized providers).

My laundry always cane back overdried (stiff, pilled, etc) because of the industrial driers. I also had many items get discolored or have other damage.

I also worried a lot about bedbugs or other contractable issues, like mold.

If you are not particular about your laundry, these things may not bother you.

Worst company ever. They lost my clothes. They made me provide all this information including receipts and bank statements. made the sudster pay them restitution but only gave me $200 credit. When I complained they cut me off.

I tried the service as the person doing the laundry. Thanks for this thread! I enjoy doing laundry. It’s relaxing. I enjoy ironing even more, but they don’t offer that yet.
