Much better, from an olfactory perspective! DC1 can't wear Keens because they make his feel smell stink, so much so that DC2 has never tried Keens.

Do they last? Yes
Do you wear socks? No
Do they smell? Not at all and easy to wash
Do they run large/small/just right? A tad small -round up 1/2 size
Other thoughts? Looking for an 8 and 5 year old

He's not picky about shoes, but flat-out refused these after this happened a few times. Also - at the playground, little bits of woodchip get in the holds. Not comfy. Tried sock, but just gave up as the little splinters work their way into the socks too.
The wood chips are the main reason I can't do there. But I make my kids wear sneakers all summer to preschool, and we wear sandals at home etc. I'm investing in keens this year instead of Target knock offs. Wish me luck! ha.

They can't wear open toed shoes for camps and i hate them wearing sandals for bike riding and long walks. These i hope will work for the warm months!
