The general assembly is most likely going to approve a measure to allow school districts to start when they want to start. The only condition for districts to choose their own start date is that they have to give the Friday off before Labor Day, to create a 4-day weekend.
Voila--no more waiver needed.

From what I gathered from earlier discussions, they have to reapply for the waiver to start before labor day? Is that for the calendar we are talking about or after that?
You talk so definitively in your first paragraph, yet your second paragraph indicates you're not ever aware that the waiver system is going away. What a clueless windbag! Hahahaha!

Speak up to the school board if you care.

Other than AP testing, I really don’t see the benefits. Start at the end of August and get out the 2nd week of June vs starting mid-August and getting out the end of May? It’s still the same amount of time. Everything will just shift. For example, if a child is bored at the end of August the child will just get bored two weeks earlier. SOL testing would be two weeks earlier and end of year shut down will do the same.
