Subject: Paid credit card bill 8 days late...help!!
I’ve done the same thing. I called and cited my excellent payment history and apologized and explained and they waived the fee, and nothing ever appeared on my credit report.

It won't impact your score unless it's 30 days late but some credit card companies have done adverse action for being late like decreasing your limit to just above the balance. Definitely plead your case.
