PP is referring to VDA. They’ve played girls in the U12 BDA before.

Isn't there a player on U20 national team from WS MD DA?

Yes, Jordan Caniff. What you need to understand is that there is a WS hater/troll on these boards that posts rubbish at all hours in multiple threads. Has been caught by the admin sock puppeting as well. Take all of the stuff that smells like BS on WS with a grain of salt.

That poster was banned months ago. Let's move on.

How do you get banned on an anonymous site ?

Can we have just one Spirit VA thread? How many do we have to start? This is stupid.

I think we all know FCV deserves the credit here.

I don't think I've ever heard the Spirit claim to have brought her along. She DOES play there, so they can tout her as "their" player but I don't think anyone credits WS for her success. SHE deserves that credit. She did the work. The clubs just provided the training environment. RU for many years; WS for two.

That mentality can be used to describe what many clubs in the area do. McLean takes developed players at U16/U17 and then claims them as their own when they go D1. FCV does the same. Taking developed players and claiming them isn’t a new phenomenon. Any chance to bash Spirit, though.

I’m claiming Richmond United invested years into a player who would’ve been great wherever she went. To call her a Spirit product and not give Richmond any credit does not seem right. Spirit parents are very quick to use her story as validation but the problem is she’s a Richmond United product who plays at Spirit MD. I do not think anyone has ever spoken negatively about Baltimore Armour, oh I mean Washington Spirit MD, on here.

She is an awesome player and hopefully we will see her with the senior team one day so WS parents have something to hold onto.

Girls DA is only half way thru its second year.

There are many Spirit VA DA players who came to Spirit from ECNL teams (McLean, BRYC, FCV (used to be ECNL)) as well as Loudoun (didnt used to be ECNL).

Many had option to stay with old clubs but chose Spirit.

Yeah Spirit DA can hardly claim to have “brought along” anyone since they have only been around a year and a half so what’s your point?? Are you claiming that she hasn’t benefited from being on Spirit for the past year? That would be incorrect.

Did she get to train regularly with the Spirit Pro team or the Spirit Reserves before last year when she was at Richmond United?

They likely will, depending on the age group, but your best bet is to reach out to Coach Tom Torres at ttorres@washspirit.com -- he may have your daughter attend some practices.

They are already picking teams for next year? I thought tryouts are usually in May?

Picking teams now would be a stretch. They had their first ID session last weekend.

If you haven't already talked to FCV your DD probably won't be playing for them next year. You still have a chance to make WS VA but I wouldn't wait too long to contact them.
