Pfft . . .I'm 50 with an almost 2 year old we adopted in 2017. I am officially the oldest mommy in any situation. I don't really care. I haven't found that it makes one bit of difference. I get along with all of the parents I meet on the playground and around the neighborhood. We get invited for playdates and other activities. I don't try to hide my age but I also don't lead with it.

I had my kids young. My first graduated high school when I was 40.

I'm 43 and have a 4 year old. Had cancer in my early 30s so no go with kiddoes back then. Most of my DC's preschool friends' parents are 10 years younger than me---but I look way younger and hipper and don't sweat the small stuff

I'm always the youngest parent. It was weird at first because we moved here from CA where everyone was my age. But, since moving here, I've noticed the parents are a lot older. I'm 33 and my eldest is 10, youngest is an infant. My 7 year olds best friend's parents are 50!

I’m almost 38 and have 9, 6, & 3 year olds. I am so with you! I had them all in the DC area & felt young with the first 2. We recently moved to Indiana & I an always the oldest (by far) in meetups with my 3 year old. My closest mom friend here is 23.

Also I meant to indicate that it’s not a joke but I mean it in a light hearted way. I’m not upset about it.

I'm 37 and pregnant with #2! Had my first at 34 and didn't notice that other moms were 40; we all seemed about the same to me! We also weren't discussing music that we liked in high school or anything....

I'm 50 and have a grade schooler and high schoolers. I'm always friendly to the younger moms. I say "hi" with a smile and that's it. I do my own thing.

The more interesting thing to me is that I've gotten a vibe from a few of my child's teachers (the ones in their late 20s) that they are, for lack of a better word, a little intimidated by my seniority. It's hard to explain.

I'm always friendly, but the young teachers will call the other moms by their first name and I am always "Mrs. so and so". Even after I've told them they can call me by my first name. I suppose it's a small sign of respect, but it feels distancing and off-putting at the same time. I'm 50, not 100.

That does surprise me then. I'll be 33 when I have my 2nd this year and it didn't even occur to me that I might feel "old". Are you in the suburbs? In the city, at 32 with a 2 yo right now, I feel very young compared to my peers.

I bet this is mostly in your head though. Some of my DD1s parents are around 37 and I don't really think of them as much older than me.

I am in the burbs (Fairfax county). Just makes me kind of laugh and i know this is not a big deal but i have a sister who is two years younger than me - and i know in the scheme of things as an adult that's not a big deal - but sometimes I laugh like - they're younger than my little sister! For most of them the 3-4 year old is their oldest, and obviously that's my youngest so it kind of makes sense. With a lot of my friends with 9 year olds - that is all of our oldest kids. It's just funny have that kind of works out.

You guys are all spring chickens! I'm 40, expecting #2, world keeps on turning. Have fun and don't worry about your age!

I’m having #3 at 33 this year and still feel young but was thinking about how old I’ll be when I (hopefully) have #4 in 2-3 years from now. And how old I’ll be when that one is in kindergarten, etc.
