You do know that you're cutting your nose to spite your face here, right? Edison needs more families who care about the quality of education there, not less. Better to share positive experiences than to go after OP for her stated concerns.

I'm not necessarily an Edison cheerleader, but you seem awfully sure without having an understanding of the facts. The 4.9% "college readiness" score (from GS rankings) is based on how many kids take ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) classes. Guess what? Very few kids at IB schools take AP exams. Since Great Schools doesn't account for IB exams, its rankings of "college readiness" at IB schools are completely flawed. So, if that is your reason for not liking Edison, you need to reconsider. If you have other concerns, fine. B
Greatschools are not only my resource. Everything points that edison is not bright.. no bright at all..
My main concern is not really discussing this actually. I was wondering if rhis Global STEM program is worth to take risk to try while there are very good options that we can go for

It's too bad because we like our neighborhood. Unlike OP, however, we have some time to wait for Edison to get better.

My children are only in elementary school at this point. That being said, we live on a street with many students that go to Edison. They are in the stem program or are on the IB track. From the neighbors that we have seen through the years we’ve been on the street all the kids have gone on to UVA, Penn, William and Mary, Virginia Tech and other great schools in Virginia. Both babysitters we use just got into UVA-parents are happy. Say what you want about the great schools and ratings online but we’ve seen success after success story on our block- if your kid gets onto the right track, they will be fine.
Are you in one of the nicer townhouse clusters in Kingstowne?
K8ngstowne goes to Hayfield.
I thought they get Lane, Twain, and Edison. Part of Kingstowne is right across the street from Edison.
Edison is on Franconia Rd.
Kingstowne is on the Hayfield side of the Springfield Franconia Parkway, mostly between that, Manchester and telegraph.
