That's what I'm wondering, where sex trafficking comes in. They don't want a toddler. Did you think they wanted you? If you had a 6-8 year old maybe, but I don't think this is weird in a sex trafficking way. Weird in other ways, sure.

OP they probably run an in-home daycare and were looking for clients. A lot of people are more open to giving it a shot -or a site visit if they see positive interaction first. It’s a long shot, but cheaper than advertising.

OP, it doesn't matter what other people think. They were not there. You saw these people's body language and your gut is telling you something is off. It's fine to listen to your gut and be alert.

I've been scammed shortly after moving to this area by a couple of friendly women. So I get it now.

Similar thing happened to us one night but we saw the car in the parking lot talking to two other girls who walked out. The girls got in their car and left and we followed the car, just to see where they would go/what they would do next.

Sometimes your senses just go up, and maybe you don’t even have to know why.

I was at Kohl’s the other day and a man who really didn’t look like he was shopping came up to me from behind and complimented my boots. What man compliments boots of a woman? I thought for sure I had been pick pocketed.

I hadn’t, but this man had my senses up.

NP. Well, I actively discourage conversation from non shoppers in any store or parking lot because usually after a friendly lead in they ask for money.

But if you are worried about kidnapping or something like that OP, I wouldn't (I don't know what thread this is s/o from). I mean, truly, how many news reports have you heard about stranger kidnappings in your area?

I find covering my baby with a paper bag and saying "avert your eyes, don't talk to us" to everyone I pass does the trick.

And, every time you see people of the same ethnicity both inside the store, and outside the store, report it.

I’ve have many women and men say hi to me and make conservation with me and my kid. This was the only time in 1.5 years of having a baby I’ve been creeped out by it. I mentioned the language/ethnicity thing because it seemed like a weird coincidence. I am not afraid of people who are different, lol. I am not white myself and my parents were poor immigrants.
