Turns out he grew almost a half inch over night. I know because during a sane moment he asked me to measure him because he was asked how tall he is by a girl. I thought he was getting sick or something really upsetting happened at school. I asked him if he had not slept well the night before and he said he got plenty of sleep. I didn't know who he was last night and I have seen plenty of puberty mood swings, just not to this degree. This morning his taller self was calm, cool and collected.
Have you seen this happen? I know they can grow overnight, but the whole temporary insanity the night before growing?

agree. There is usually 1/4 to 1/2 inch shrinkage of height by end of the day due to compression of the spaces between your joints throughout the day. So to get an accurate differential, measure in the mornings only. If you compare an evening with a morning reading, you will see false growth!Anonymous wrote:I respectfully disagree that he grew half an inch overnight. Seems impossible.
