Yes, actually we do. We like to eat together as a family. And yes, I have one other younger child who is way more flexible. My HS DS is the busiest kid in our family including my DH who works is a partner in a major law firm. DS commutes one hour to school and has many ECs. We try to make his life easy because he works so hard. Call it helicoptering or whatever you want. We call it LOVE.
One day he’ll expect that much LOVE from some unfortunate woman who’s agreed to be his wife.

Am I the only one who thinks this is overkill on the part of the police and the University to go after this mom? Sure, it's weird, and she shouldn't be doing it, but does it really merit a campus wide bulletin with her picture, newspaper articles, and police involvement. And that notoriety will harm the student whose mom it is much more than the mom's limited inquiries. Everyone in this situation needs to back off, not just the mom.

You may know that when you’re paying $70,000 a year for college you’ll have no right to see his grades (unless he gives you that right).
NP with kid heading off to college .... Of course I will have access to his grades, etc.. Unless he wants to pay his own way through college (like I did) he will give me access.

Same. What college kid wouldn't be completely MORTIFIED to find out his mother was doing that? She must have lost touch with reality to think ANY girl would be into a guy whose mom was that involved.

We will cross that bridge when we come to it, but thinking at least for freshman year to have access to grades and then if all goes well, relinquish that access if he wants us to. But I don't think he really cares.
