+1 and people didn't notice/care. Now super padded and nothing can stick out.

Maybe the set was cold, maybe TV size and definition makes what was visible before glaring now, but bras were not padded then as they are now. I actually have a toy gh time finding non-padded ones these days; then it wasn’t yet a thing. They’re just nipples. We all have them.

I have always noticed this specifically on Jennifer.

Your TV back then wasn't good. I didn't watch the show, but I do remember listening to a radio-show interview with the cast and the shock jock asked the male cast members why Aniston's nipples were always at attention. I was so shocked by the question that I still remember it.

So, clearly some people noticed back when it aired.

It wasn't the "cold set"

Sets are cold, though, to keep live audiences energetic.

Yeah, I feel like choices were either super padded maximizing VS bras or thin ones.

I and a few guy friends discussed about who is the hottest girl on Friends. Rachel won hand down. We all know why

It wasn't the "cold set", and bras with pads weren't just recently invented.
She dressed to expose herself all.the.time.

It was her thing.
I always thought it was an odd way to get attention.

What are you getting from this? That the actresses were exploited or that the actresses were exploiting their assets to be more noticed? I’m voting for the latter, especially with the years of Aniston nonsense since.

Anonymous wrote:I watched Friends when it came out originally, (fyi for you youngsters, waiting each week for the next episode). At some point I stopped watching (maybe a little before Rachel gets pregnant...I can't remember)

Now, when watching with my DD on either the TV or her computer, I noticed even in the early episodes, you can see nipple outlines on esp. Rachel but I think maybe Monica too. I just do not remember this AT ALL; this is something I would have totally remembered as that would have been really racy or cutting edge back in 1994; on TV during "family" hours.

So my question is...is it because our TVs now have better definition? Or has it been added in after the fact? Did you remember noticing this when watching it way back in 1994 onwards?
They were there, you just did not notice them. It was known at the time that they kept the set very cold to produce that effect.

Anonymous wrote:I remember an interviewer asked this question to one of the female cast members, and the response was a sheepish, ‘it’s cold on set.’

Today, that would be a #metoo situation.
