This. Start 16/8 IF and start your fasting window at 7 or 8 pm.

+100 - I was a terrible binge/purge. I started IF right after NY and I haven't pinged/purged in over 6 weeks.

I've been there OP. The second you feel a craving you need to get up and go do something else. My trigger is being on the couch watching tv with DH in the evenings. Now I:
Take a bath
Read
Clean (not the most fun but productive lol)
Price out vacations
Hit the gym (depending on how tired I am)
Prepare lunch for tomorrow
Sit on fitness ball and do some exercises

This. Brush your teeth and go to bed. You don't have to go to sleep. Read or watch TV.

+1 bright line eating
It worked better than therapy. Therapist suggested intuitive eating but my intuitive is screaming to binge... I need the restriction.

Not op: I’ll try Brain over binge. Thanks for the Recommendation!

Brain Over Binge is an amazing resource and method. I wish I had read it 20 years ago! Mentioned here on DCUM. Have not had a binge since I read it 2 months ago.

Bingeing eating is a disorder not a weakness. I am not sure you are at that level. I was and what really caused it was feeling really bad about myself. It was self destructive. So you need to recognize that first.

I’ve had success with Bright Line Eating - the food plan is like OA, but it’s not 12-step. You can pay to do online programs with a support component (like the bootcamp) or you can just read the book and work the plan on your own. It’s Bright Line Eating by Susan Peirce Thompson.

Best of luck!

Anonymous wrote:Op here. I’ve tried drinking water and it doesn’t work (I drink a lot of water throughout the day). I’ve tried sleepy time tea and it tastes like soap to me. I usually eat salad with dinner so I haven’t tried substituting anything like that, usually it’s my sweet tooth that goes crazy at night. I don’t even like chips!

If my sweet tooth absolutely cannot be ignored, I chose two chunks of frozen mango.

Options:
IF
Tea
Healthier substitute
Willpower
Bed

You have to try something and stick to it.
