I live in DC, but there are lots of folks who live in SS with that budget. You are in DC, 800 to 1.5 is not a lot of money.

Where are a "lot" of folks in that budget in SS? I agree that in DC that is not much, but when I look at Zillow I don't see that price range much in SS. Now, you have plenty of that budget in Rockville, even in Olney they are building new huge homes for that, and plenty of Catholic privates and there is Sandy Spring Friends nearby. Clarksville is also that price range.

Your best bet is to go far outside the beltway. There is not a single precinct inside the beltway MoCo that voted for Trump. The closest would be a Chevy Chase precinct, directly east of the library, that was 63-28 Clinton.

That's an interesting map.

If you go west a bit to Potomac, you can find an even more conservative area. Some places have 41% Trump.

There are not very many houses that sell in SS for over a million. I agree 1mil isn't what it used to be but it takes the perfect house in the perfect spot to bring that in SS and those are few and far between. Only a handful every year.

Eastern part of the county, I've had to travel to the western part of the county to find more progressive churches, so there are a lot of conservatives living in outer Silver Spring, as well as all the diversity which is here. Surprised us. We live in 20906 and near 20905. Basically anywhere there are native, lower middle class "redneck" natives may tend to be conservative.

Do you go to church, OP? You might have better luck finding a home near your home church. I'd say neighborhoods around a Catholic Church (such as Our Lady of Mercy in Potomac, St. Jane's in Bethesda) or some of the larger Christian churches in upper county will probably have more of the conservative folks.

The Holy Redeemer parish was literally highlighted in a WaPo article noting the only really red part of the county.

I went to elementary school at HR, and I still have ties in the zip code: trust me, it's conservative. It's also very white and Catholic.

When Obama appointees were relocating to DC, local realtors literally steered then am away.

People will probably say, "But we're Jewish liberals living near Parkwood." Yes, there are some...but they aren't the majority, and the HR families call that the wrong side of the tracks.

Gorgeous houses, nice big streets, sahm central, and a swim club that defines the community. So preppy it makes Vineyard Vines seem too subtle.

We're conservatives in Chevy Chase Village and, while there are plenty of liberals in the neighborhood (and even so-called "progressives", though generally of the Woodrow Wilson / Ralph Northrum / Margaret Sanger variety), there are quite a few moderates and conservatives, plus even a few (quiet) Trump supporters.
